Time to flex your vouchers! For all Singaporeans 21 and above in 2025, it’s time to spend some vouchers the Singaporean way.

To celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, all adult Singapore Citizens will receive vouchers of $600 (for those 60 years old and above, it will be $800), to be disbursed across the month of July.

How and where do I get them

Seniors will be able to claim the vouchers first, followed by the rest of the adult population. The vouchers will expire on Dec 31, 2026.

The redemption experience will be like Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers, where you can claim them digitally on RedeemSG via Singpass. Those who can’t claim them digitally can approach the nearest Community Centres.

You can spend the vouchers on all businesses that accept CDC vouchers. Half of the SG60 vouchers will be allocated for participating shops and hawkers in the heartlands, and the other half at participating supermarkets.

Basically, If you see this CDC voucher decal outside the shop, it means the merchant accepts those vouchers as mode of payment.

About three million Singaporeans will benefit from this.

Here are some youthful suggestions on how to spend your SG60 vouchers, wisely.

#1 Pokemon or One Piece cards

Some retailers do sell these cards at their shops, as spotted by our editorial team. But do be careful and make sure the cards are authentic. If it is too cheap, it’s probably fake. You also will have to hunt for them, like a true Otaku.

You can use these cards as alternative investments. There is an active card collecting community in Singapore. A PSA graded card has high resale value if it is rare and limited edition.

#2 Get a new pair of spectacles

Many heartland opticians do accept CDC vouchers, and you can take this opportunity to get your wonky pair of old spectacles changed!

Gift yourself better eyes and shower them some love by opting for transition lenses or lenses that provide blue light or UV rays protection.

#3 Buy durians

It’s the durian season, so why not indulge in a local favourite. This time you can flex that durian passion with your family by treating them to a durian party!

The vouchers should be enough to last you many durian rounds.

#4 Cook up a storm, at home

It can be good time to hone your secret culinary dreams and “Masterchef” it using the SG60 vouchers to buy groceries.

This is a low-key effort into trying out a new hobby. Who knows, maybe this could ignite a new passion, and you will finally use your SkillsFuture vouchers to sign up for that cooking class you’ve been putting off.

#5 Go get your teeth cleaned

Use those vouchers for personal hygiene and get those teeth attended. If you are delaying your scaling and polishing sessions, this is your sign to get it done.

If you have a toothache, don’t wait. Make a booking today.

#6 Gift it to your parents or grandparents

This brings tears to my eyes when people on Reddit said that they will do this. If you think the vouchers will make the old folks happy, go ahead! I’m sure they will be more than pleased with the thoughtful gesture.

Your vouchers, your rules

Of course, we won’t judge you if you choose to use the vouchers to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 or get yourself a handphone trade up. The vouchers are yours and yours to spend.

Do note that there are limitations to the vouchers on items like lottery purchases, alcohol, and cigarettes.
